RoRo and Cruise Terminals
Introduction Print

Independence of the Seas at SouthamptonNot only are Royal Haskoning the worldwide leader in port design, we also have extensive knowledge and experience of cruise terminals and facilities. We have been commissioned by some of the biggest names in the cruise industry to provide solutions and advice tailored to their needs.

The solutions Royal Haskoning have provided over the years range from feasibility studies for developing Nations to the procurement of a pair of identical passenger walkways to serve the largest passenger vessels in the world like for example Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas. This contract required the walkways to reach the passenger door heights some 12 metres above the quay at high water whilst being used by the 5700 passengers and crew.

The Cruise Terminal team is supported by the remainder of Royal Haskoning’s Maritime Division, which represents probably the largest concentration of maritime expertise and experience available in the world. Commissions are frequently undertaken with input for multi-disciplinary teams comprising Royal Haskoning’s own in-house building services and structural engineers, environmental scientists, coastal engineers, transport economist and urban planners. This ability to draw on the full range of expertise from in-house resources enables Royal Haskoning to offer a seamless, fully co-ordinated, and cost effective, service to clients anywhere in the world with our coverage of international office locations.
