Royal Haskoning was appointed to prepare a strategic Master Plan for the expansion of 4 terminals for the export of dry bulk products including clinker and cement and the import of raw materials (gypsum, slag, iron ore, bauxite) and coal. The Master Plan included a development plan for the civil works as well as conceptual designs for the material handling equipment.

Preparation of a basic design to upgrade the existing iron ore export facilities in order to increase the export capacity of Mauritania. The design was made for 250,000 DWT vessels and included a new 10,000 tph shiploader including conveyor belt systems, surge bunkers, stackers and reclaimers.

Analysis of the present cost and tariff structure for handling and storage of iron oxide pellets and other bulk materials at the El-Dekheila Bulk Mineral Terminal. The provided services included: - Market analysis for tariffs for handling ore and coal; - Terminals comparison study (local, in the region and international); - Analysis of ANSDK’s total handling costs; - Determination of the present value of the terminal; - Determination of formulas for future calculation of the tariff; - Assistance during negotiations with the owner.

P.T.l Dermaga Perkasa Pratama operates a coal terminal in Balikpapan. The terminal is used for unloading of coal barges, storage of coal and loading it onto seagoing vessels. In phase 2 the terminal was extended with a new coal stock yard. The extension included: - Belt conveyor route to stock yard; - Stock yard overhead belt conveyor with tripper; - Stock yard; - 4 reclaimers and belt conveyors. Services provided by Royal Haskoning included construction supervision of mechanical works and co-ordination of construction works.
