Development of a public information website to raise the profile of Newhaven Port and to publicise the Port Masterplan. The website was developed using a Content Management System to enable port staff to update the site with news, updated contentand swingbridge opening times.

A web based questionnaire was developed for users to calculate their carbon footprint. The calculations were based on criteria issued by the UK Government, and covered topisc such as transport, home energy consumption and lifetyle choices.

Royal Haskoning developed an application for use on all offshore aggregate dredging ships operating on Crown Estate seabed. The application collects data files which are created by another programme, encrypts them to a high standard and automatically emails them on a weekly basis to the Crown Estate's Managing Agent and a UK government agency for analysis. Ongoing development work has taken place since 1993 over which time the method of data transmission has been upgraded from floppy disk to the present GPRS/3G based system.

A network of linked 'Niche' websites were developed which are accesible by a central 'Maritime Portal' website. Niche websites cover many aspects of work undertaken by the Maritime Division of Royal Haskoning and allow for market specific information to be easily accesible to clients.

The Maritime Portal was upgraded in 2009 to run on an open source Content Management System, allowing the site to be maintained and updated easily and by designated users.
