Mr Dalrymple is a Chartered Engineer and Professional Project Manager. He is responsible for the RH team of specialist Engineers and Technicians trained to work safely at height. He has over 10 years of experience specific to mast and tower works and 14 in the design and contract management of a wide variety of projects internationally.


Mr Dalrymple also has detailed knowledge and first hand experience in all aspects of Weather Radar Procurement, from site identification through the infrastructure planning, in particular the Civil and Structural Engineering aspects of such works.


Several years spent managing a high profile project in the Caribbean Region has lead to a comprehensive understanding of procurement rules and regulations in relation 9th European Development Fund.

Mr O’Brien has several years of experience as a project manager in design and contract management of a wide variety of structural, maritime and telecommunication projects.

He has extensive experience in the development, letting and management of all types of contracts, specialising in measurement, variations, claim and disputes.  Over they years, Mr. O’Brien has undertaken comprehensive inspection and assessment roles, focussing in particular on timber and steel structures, incl. communication structures & airport hangar structures.

He currently manages a number of schemes ranging from demolition and rebuild projects to facility management of remote telecommunication sites. 

Mr O’Brien has specialist skills in Project Management, Facilities Management, Telecommunication and Pylon Structures, and comprehensive experience in the use of MS Tower, AutoCAD.  He is qualified and graded to climb high structures.

Mr Hannell has 8 years experience in the design and contract management of a wide variety of mast and tower related projects. He also has extensive experience in the inspection and assessment of concrete, timber and steel structures. Mr Hannell joined Royal Haskoning in 2001. He is responsible for organising and undertaking mast and tower inspections at remote and urban radio sites in the UK, Ireland and the Caribbean.

He is also responsible for undertaking a large number of analysis exercises for masts and tower to both BS8100 and CP3/BS5950 using MSTower and STAAD Pro. Towers analysed included timber, steel, concrete and alloy structures ranging in height from 5 metres to 274 metres. Guyed and free standing structures were included in this list.

Mr Freer has overall responsibility for the professional services delivered in by the team above out of the Edinburgh office. He has over 30 years experience in the design and contract management of a wide variety of structural, maritime and highway related projects. He also has extensive experience in the inspection and assessment of concrete, timber and steel structures principally bridges, buildings and communication structures. Particular expertise is held in World War II Hangar Structures.

Mr Freer joined Royal Haskoning as Regional Manager, in October 1993 and was subsequently appointed as a Director in 1999. He is responsible for the Maritime Division’s work in Scotland through his management of the Glasgow and Edinburgh teams. Work activities are primarily focused on the UK, Ireland and the Caribbean. He organises the activities of a team of professional staff providing a wide range of services, but mainly specialising in services relating to maritime works, buildings (in particular MOD World War II Hangars) and the specialist field of communication structures.
