Brief Description

Tertiary Amine Production
Emmerich, Germany
KAO Chemicals

Royal Haskoning Dordtse Engineering executed detailed engineering, procurement and construction management for a Tertiary Amine Production plant. Scope included over 100 equipment items including, reactor, columns, tanks, agitators, hot oil furnace, pumps and vessels. With a conventional schedule the required completion date would not have been achievable. Making TAP2 an intelligent copy of TAP1 and as far as possible starting the construction preparations, selection of contractors and procurement of materials in parallel with the detailed engineering and design, made it possible to build the new plant in record time. As a result of this strategy and intensive construction supervision the project was completed on schedule and within budget. Production was within specification soon after start-up.
