Port and Terminal Facilities Print

Royal Haskoning has considerable experience of the services required for modern ports, being responsible for the design of fresh water and salt water firefighting distribution and pumping systems, high voltage and low voltage electrical distribution and switching, terminal lighting, and other terminal services.

The firm has its own suite of floodlighting design computer programs, independent of individual lighting manufacturers. It has also developed experience in assessing the complex problems of harmonic disturbance to electric power supplies caused by the operation of large modern container cranes and similar equipment.

Royal Haskoning is actively engaged in the detail design and development of port facilities and marine structures including:

• Berths and Jetties for General Cargo, Containers, RoRo and Specialist Cargoes

• Bulk Handling Terminals for Solids and Liquids

• Naval Facilities

• Marinas and Fishing Harbours

• Navigational Aids

• Dredging and Reclamation

Portsmouth

The complementary disciplines within the firm allow designs to be developed in a rational way with all factors being considered from the early stages.

This is particularly useful as we have an experienced team of Mechanical and Electrical engineers in-house who have extensive experience of marine installations.

Royal Haskoning has significant experience in the design and development of the whole range of port terminals.
