Asset Management Print

Investment in assets can make services available when the port’s customers need them. However, customers will not wish to see facilities that stand idle and therefore compromise productivity levels. Whether ports are contemplating the repair and upgrade of existing facilities or the purchase of new assets, we encourage dialogue between both operations and maintenance teams to generate effective solutions.

This is value that our Port Services team brings to the world’s ports, harbours and docks. It’s a diverse team that combines many disciplines, including mechanical, electrical and civil engineering, and operations management.

Our assessment of both existing and proposed new assets will be based on whole life costs, balancing initial or refurbishment expenditure against maintenance costs, productivity, operating costs and residual value.

Every stakeholder is involved in the process so they all understand and support the optimum goals. We can also lead training of both maintenance and operations staff, and implement systems to encourage staff feedback and continuous improvement.

Impartial Advice and Experienced Project Management

As well as advising on investment in new assets, we can help you monitor and improve the performance and productivity of your existing facilities. One way we achieve this is by ensuring an effective dialogue between your operations and maintenance teams.

To ensure optimum maintenance standards, our team undertakes a review of the maintenance and inspection standards, and can recommend appropriate, cost effective action where safety or performance standards could be improved.

Best practice and procedures can be established, and we can advise you on the management of staff, procurement and stock control.

Royal Haskoning, through Posford Haskoning Ltd and Haskoning Nederland B.V., has exceptional environmental expertise, and can advise on such issues as contamination management and compliance with relevant legislation.

We also recognise that Health and Safety management is a priority for our clients; it is one of our Group’s key themes of global importance.
