The Maritime Division of Royal Haskoning have extensive experience in the field of Bespoke Modelling. To view examples of our project work, please see the entries below.

Sochi Passenger Terminal Simulation

Project Name:

Sochi Passenger Terminal Simulation

Country:

Turkey

Client:

Royal Haskoning

Year:

2009

Royal Haskoning were assigned the task of designing a Cruise terminal to help cope with the increased demand expected in 2014 relating to the Winter Olympic Games. As part of the validation for the initial design, a 3d simulation was undertaken of the processes inside the terminal to check the size of the areas and that enough scanning equipment was provided to meet demand.

Hythe Barrage Simulation

Project Name:

Hythe Barrage Simulation

Country:

United Kingdom

Client:

Royal Haskoning

Year:

2007

Royal Haskoning developed a visual simulation tool that compared two tidal lock gate designs. The two designs were assessed in the simulation to determine the percentage of the time that the canal was navigable and whether the difference in time justified the additional construction costs of the second option.

Dublin Flood Forecast Modelling

Project Name:

Dublin Flood Forecast Modelling

Country:

Ireland

Client:

Dublin County Council

Year:

2007

Due to extensive flooding in central Dublin after a 100 year tidal surge, the council engaged in a large number of coastal defence and planning activities. Royal Haskoning were involved in a number of these including the development of flood risk models of the area and designing and implementing a flood warning system. This system links up with the MET Offices weather forecast system and wave measurement buoys to aims to give 36 hours warning before future flood tides are likely to hit Dublin Bay.

Mauritius Passenger Terminal Simulation

Project Name:

Mauritius Passenger Terminal Simulation

Country:

Mauritius

Client:

Mauritius Port Authority

Year:

2009

As part of a proposed plan for a cruise terminal in Mauritius, a simulation of the passenger terminal design was completed to assist in capacity planning and checking that the terminal building was of a sufficient size to cater for the expected vessel size and passenger numbers.
