Safety Audits and Inspections Print
Hydraulic system at Sheerness RoRo
For any port or terminal operator safety of their employees is high on their list of objectives in the day to day running and operating of the port. Furthermore keeping up with the latest legislation which applies to their port equipment is equally important, Royal Haskoning recognise this and can provide safety focused audits and inspections which are designed to engage with the port and the operational staff in such a way as to understand how they operate and maintain the equipment.  With this information we are able to guide and prioritise the port with regard to upgrading the equipment in such a way that legislation is met and their duty to comply is achieved.

In Europe the legislation which governs port equipment such as vehicle linkspans and passenger walkways is the Machinery Directive which in the UK is the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER). Royal Haskoning can arrange and assist in these audits in a number of ways.
