RoRo and Ferry Terminals
RoRo and Ferry Terminals
Introduction Print

Royal Haskoning has been involved in the planning, design and implementation of RoRo and ferry facilities both in the UK and overseas for over 40 years.

The group is supported by the remainder of Royal Haskoning’s Maritime Division, which represents probably the largest concentration of maritime expertise and experience available in the world. Commissions are frequently undertaken with input for multi-disciplinary teams comprising Royal Haskoning’s own in-house building services and structural engineers, environmental scientists, coastal engineers, transport economist and urban planners. This ability to draw on the full range of expertise from in-house resources enables Royal Haskoning to offer a seamless, fully co-ordinated, and cost effective, service to clients. Royal Haskoning’s expertise in ship to shore access facilities, such as linkspans for ferries and passenger boarding bridges, is underpinned by our involvement in the production of CIRIA (Construction Industry Research and Information Association) Report C518 'Safety in Ports-Ship to Shore Linkspans and Walkways. A Guide to Procurement, Operation and Maintenance', which was published in July 1999.  Since that time, Royal Haskoning’s regular ro-ro safety seminars have become major events in the calendar of the UK Ports Industry and members of the team are regular presenters at RoRo conferences worldwide.
